Dear Arabian Stallions,
After seeing our meeting one of our guests, spontaneously expressed his willingness to become the member of our club. Next week he is delivering his ice breaker speech. For our next meeting already four speakers got lined up. Stallions, with this you can imagine the quality of our meeting we had. Those who missed our last meeting, let me briefly explain the proceedings of the meeting.
Our dashing, daring and dynamic toastmaster TM Rayees started the meeting by reading the moto of toastmasters club. Our president TM Shams after warmly welcoming the guests handed over the lectern to Toastmaster of the Day, our Area Governor TM Waqas. Considering the annual club contests, he had chosen a right topic as theme of the meeting "Competition". He has taken a balanced view about the theme and well narrated the positives and negatives of competition. Thank you TM Waqas.
We had elections for VP Education as our current VP Education TM Nauman was busy in his studies. Two contestants came forward (TM Mohan and TM Ismael), after certain formalities our AG TM Waqas conducted voting for VP Education post. TM Mohan was elected as VP Education for the rest of the term (from 1st January 2013 to 30th June 2013). I take this opportunity to thank all the members for providing me this opportunity to server toastmasters community. I strongly believe toastmaster is beautiful journey and not destination and I promise I do my best in discharging my duties as VP Education. I seek all members support. After our club meeting, I had a dinner with TM Ismail, with in few minutes of my interactions, he (TM Ismail) mentioned that leadership is not about the title or position. It is all about responsibility and passion. He volunteered to help our club to achieve perfect 10 in DCP points. TM Ismail, we are so lucky to have a member like you. Being a VP Education, I need your full support.
Last meeting, we had three speakers delivered their projects.
TM Aiman has delivered his 6th Project from basic manual "Your body speaks" with the title "Greatness". I always noticed TM Aiman gives his personal life stories which attracts the focus of our audience. During the last four meetings, he presented 3 projects without compromising on the quality. Well done TM Aiman!!! Now you are qualified to participate in International Speech Contest held on 31st January 2013. My dear senior toastmasters, now you have to tighten your belts and practice well before coming to Annual Contest. TM Aiman is a tough competitor for you.
TM Hamad has delivered his icebreaker speech with the title "My self" and he well connected the art with Toastmasters. Thank you TM Hamad.
TM Jihad has delivered his 2nd project from basic manual with the title "Gratitude". If you want me to write one word about his speech, I would say "WooooooooooooooooooooW". He captivated all the audience with right question "How many of you, last time, expressed gratitude to the God". What a way to grab the attention of the audience. TM Jihad, I stand and situate though I am elder to you. You made all of us to think!!!!
TM Rayees was the tale topics master and came out with different concept of Imagination. If you win a lottery of SR 1 M / US$ M / Eur 1 M, what you will do with that money? All the contestants were well presented humorously.
Then the lecture was handed over the our young Toastmaster TM Jabir for evaluation. He was very critical in his evaluation and all the suggestions were taken positively and we will implement all his suggestions in our future meetings.
Following are the winners:
1) Best Speaker award - TM Hamad
2) Best Tabletopics master - TM Bandar (our guest)
3) Best Evaluator - TM Majid
4) Big 3 - TM Waqas
5) Best Meeting Leader - TM Ismail.
Following announcements were made by our president:
1) Club Annual contest on 31st January 2013 for all four categories
2) Club officers training on 11th January 2013 at NGH. Separate Email sent by our AG TM Waqas. All the members are requested to attend the officers training, which will help to hone your leadership skills.
Meeting was concluded at 8.50 pm.
Regards
Mohan
